I did it! I finished my last "deadline quilt' of the year and I've been
sewing for fun the past couple of weeks! Balancing a small business as a
hobby can be tricky so I like to take December "off". I am sewing
samples for my newest pattern, but I'm not pressuring myself to finish them
next month; if I do it will be a happy surprise. I've been looking at my
WIP list for all my crafty projects and deciding what I want to finish up now
instead of carrying over into 2025, as well as working on a rough plan for
next year. Finally, if you are interested in any of my patterns,
my 25% off holiday sale (applied automatically in cart)
is active until December 4th (this will be the last sale until I release
the next pattern). I also
joined BlueSky
- give me a follow if you are over there too!

Quilts Finished
Quilts Started
Rainbow Space Parade - I wasn't planning on starting another quilt, and
after finishing the
Ruby Star Pebbled Prairie
I just wanted to work on a quilt where I didn't have to make any fabric
decisions. That lasted about a week and then I was itching to
make a scrappy quilt. This one wasn't even on my list of pattern
samples, but I couldn't get it out of my head so here we are. It's
going to be a crib-sized quilt.
Quilt Progress (6 WIPs touched)
Fado Road - I finally pulled this one back out and realized I was closer to
being done than I thought - always a good feeling! I was only sewing
chunks together, so there isn't a big reveal photo, but fingers crossed for
a finished top next month!
Marble Mystery Quilt - It's purely a coincidence that these colors line up so well with
the Fado Road quilt, but they did make for nice leaders and enders blocks
when I was working on both projects at the same time!
Space Parade - My additional fabric arrived and I'm almost finished with the
quilt top. I'm not quite ready to share photos yet so you'll just have
to believe that it exists.
Blocks made for my memory scrap quilt and leaders and enders quilt.
Miscellaneous Accomplishments
I have a drawer filled with components for hand-stitching projects and I
finished two of them this month! Crochet was one of my very first
crafts as a kid - I remember being fascinated at how my grandma used a chain
stitch to make a rope for one of our imaginary games. Earlier this
year, my targeted ads were full of
Woobles
and I asked for a kit for my birthday. This was fun to make and I was
impressed at the quality of the video instructions for making him.
Best of all, it looks like a little dinosaur!
I also finished my first cross-stitch pattern from my
Cross Stitching in the Forest
book. If you couldn't tell from the picture above, we have a very
well-loved teddy bear in our family so naturally I had to start with the
bear chart.
I couldn't get a photo where you could see the lines of snow under the bear
(it's almost the same color as my background aida), so you'll just have to
trust me that he is, in fact, centered in the finished piece.
And that's it! Next month, I'll be reflecting on all of my goals from
this year and talking about some changes I have planned for next year.
I look forward to seeing you then!
