Another mini quilt finish!  This quilt is from the Summer Solstice quilt along hosted by Happy Quilting Melissa .  I fell in love with it because of the curves!  I've been dabbling with curves lately and found I really enjoy sewing them.  Melissa offered a huge variety of size options for this quilt, and I decided to go with the larger block size and make a single one for a mini quilt.  I used the extra fabric from the paint drip quilt I made for Angela Pingel over the summer. This was a fast finish - there were five sets of instructions and you got a new set every two weeks.  It was easy to keep up because I was only making one block!  And the blues are so calming!  This one has been hung up on my sewing room wall.

A few years ago, a friend of mine asked me to create a Pokemon quilt for her son.  I found an awesome panel on Etsy and designed some Pokeballs to go above and below it and it was a hit! Now that Pokemon Go! has become popular, I've had questions on Instagram about the pattern for this quilt, so I've written one up for the Pokeballs I designed to use in it.  I wish I could write up a pattern for the whole quilt, but I just winged putting it together and I have no idea if the panel is even still available.   The pattern is available in my Etsy shop - go check it out!   No longer sold due to copyright.

A long, long, time ago, I didn't have a huge WIP list or idea list, or much of anything except a lot of leftover red and yellow fabric from the massive king-size quilt that I'd made for our bed.  So when I saw the Wishes Quilt-Along pop up in January 2014 I thought it sounded new and fun - an obsession was born! However, by the end of the year this fell off the radar.  One block a month was slower than I wanted to sew and I had started a lot of other projects.  I finally decided just to call it with the blocks that I had made and add a staggered border that seemed interesting to me.  I also had a brand-new free-motion foot that I wanted to practice with, so this was also the first of my intricately quilted quilts.  I used yellow, red, and navy thread to match the areas I was quilting.  I just love how everything in this quilt pops!
