2025 Q3 Goal Recap
I've gone back and forth on this intro a couple of times, and here's the truth: I don't feel like I sewed much in Q3. I worked on three different quilt tops over the summer and finished them all by the end of August, but in September, I just wasn't feeling it. I've been spending my down time reading and watching movies instead, with a sprinkling of cross-stitching when I was on the couch at night. I pushed myself to make the Summer Sampler block over the last few days and had fun doing it, so here's hoping I'll be back to sewing in Q4!
Quilt Tally
WIP List to Start the Quarter: 11
WIP List to End the Quarter: 9
Active QAL Projects: 0
Untouched in 2025: 4
Finished in Q3: 5 quilts, 1 cross-stitch project, 1 small
project
A look back at my (failed) goals for Q3:
2025 Q3 Goal 1: Release Floppy
Nope. The samples are made and I'm working on the diagrams before I send it to the technical editor.
2025 Q3 Goal 2: Finish Pooh Corner
Done-ish - I finished the top, had it long-arm quilted, and am currently working on the hand-binding. I measure my binding in corners and this one is two corners in, but the sides are quite long. I counted this as a finished Q3 quilt above, but it's not quite there.
2025 Q3 Goal 3 (Carryover): Mini Cross-Stitch Tutorial
Nope. I finished my big cross-stitch piece and I'm experimenting with stitching on paper, so I haven't made anything that is suitable for this goal.
2025 Q3 Goal 4 (Carryover): Summer Sampler 2019
I thought I was going to go another quarter without making any progress on this quilt, but Make Modern dropped a bonus pattern in my email box that looked fun, so I printed it off and set it on my cutting table for inspiration. Then I only made it because I didn't want to say I didn't do anything for this goal AGAIN in this recap post. So thank you for the motivation! One block to go and then I can start final assembly.
Finished Quilts
I'll add a link to Pooh Corner once I finish that binding! Not pictured are the two Floppy samples I finished, but am not sharing yet.

Quilt Along Updates
I have no active QALs right now, which is a rarity for me, though I am planning on joining two that start in 2026. I'm also a proud sponsor of the Magnificent Mystery Quilt by Meadow Mist Designs. The first sewing clue was released this month, so it's not too late to jump in!
Other Project Notes
Scrappy Coin Blocks |
D12 Dice Bag |
Scrappy Coin Quilt - This is just a sample of how the blocks will look when they are all sewn together. I'm over halfway done making my blocks and it doesn't even feel like making a quilt since all the patches are cut from scraps of other projects and the sewing is done as leaders and enders only!
D12 Dice Bag - I don't sew many non-quilt things, but this was a special request from my son. It was fun to dust off the old machine (my regular machine is straight-stitch only and I needed the zig-zag stitch) and finish an entire project in an afternoon!
Cross-Stitch
The Mothly Cube - This is from a pattern called "The Mothly Crew", but I didn't like the Aida I bought so after one moth I decided I was done. This is supposed to be fun, not a slog. My first attempt at making a cross-stitch piece into a cube was such a disaster I never even shared it here, but my kids really liked it so I tried again this month and was much more successful!
Night of the Frost Dragon - This project is stitched up and ready for finishing! I found out the hard way that my method for finishing small cross-stitches is not the best way to finish large cross-stitches, so I am reading tutorials and trying to decide how I want to finish this up. For now, it's in the pile with all my other "stitched but not ready for display" large projects.
BluePip News
Floppy is coming next quarter for real...I hope!
I am also working on another quilt pattern that is Valentine's Day themed (but in a cool, modern way).
Goals for 2025 Q4
1. Release Floppy.
2. Finish the Valentine's Day-themed pattern so it's ready to go in January.
3. (Carryover) Summer Sampler 2019. If I made one block in Q3, I can certainly make one more block in Q4. Once all the blocks are done, I'll feel compelled to finish the whole top, then things will domino into a completed quilt.
4. (Carryover) Cross Stitch mini tutorial. I'm ready to stitch a small piece again, so this should happen.
And that's my short and sweet list of goals to end the year. I'm linking up with Yvonne at Quilting JetGirl to share with you!
