2026 Q1 Goal Recap

As always, the year started off hot with a lot of finishes!  I love that post-holidays energy boost.  I also spent some time cleaning up the recently defunct Make Modern affiliate links (this is their last year publishing) and updated Project Quilting links.  If you find a dead link on my blog and need help finding where it is supposed to go, please let me know so I can fix it up.

2026 Q1 Goal 1: Cuddlekiss Release
Cuddlekiss was released on its planned date of February 1st!  It's never too early to start next year's Valentine's Day project (or any project to show your love for someone) so go check it out!

2026 Q1 Goal 3: Football Quilt WIP
It's a good thing I wanted to see the Octadot quilt finished as much as I did, otherwise I might not have pulled these blocks out after that heartbreaking playoffs loss.  It also helped that my longarmer was having a sale in February that I wanted to take advantage of!  I'm just sharing a teaser picture of the finished quilt for now (all the football stuff is on the back) - the final photos require a road trip and that's not happening for a while.

Quilt Along Updates
After not starting a single QAL in 2025, I found myself wanting to start a few new ones in 2026.  So I made an arbitrary rule that before starting any new QAL projects, I had to finish at least one block from an old QAL to move them along.  I stuck to this (easy for the first time) and made one Under the Sea block before starting my Farm Fresh quilt, which I actually kept up on week to week!  This week is the final week of making blocks, and then I'll be starting my Peter Pan quilt from Art East (after making another Under the Sea block, of course!).

No finishes besides the ones already listed above - Project Quilting kept me busy!

Cross Stitch
While my quilting WIP list is in great shape, my cross stitch one is not.  I like stitching the big pieces, but finding a way to finish them and display them is a challenge for me.  This quarter I focused on smaller pieces and completely finished three of them (with one more fully stitched and ready for finishing).

Nothing to share for BluePip Designs this quarter, except for a big thank you to everyone who has bought a pattern.  I'm taking a planned break after my Q1 release of Cuddlekiss and hope to have some business goals when I post my Q2 recap.

Goals for 2026 Q2
As part of my planned break, my goals for this quarter are very light:

1. Finish Blue Coin.  I was hoping to finish this quilt in Q1, but I only got about halfway done with the quilting.

2. Finish the Halloween Snow Globes.  This should be doable in an afternoon, but it's a new thing for me (cross-stitching on paper) and I'm afraid I'm going to screw it up.

3. Finish the Farm Fresh quilt.  While the front is done, I have big plans for the back as well so it will be a little bit of work to put that together.  Once I'm finished, I plan on sending this out out to be quilted because it is huge!
