2025 Q4 Goal Recap and 2026 Goals
It's noon on December 31st, and I am done crafting for the year. My hobbies expanded yet again this year, but this time it wasn't a new craft, it was going to the movies! I love the peace and quiet of the dark theater and forcing myself to sit still and focus solely on the screen so much that I went 101 times. Luckily, I still found the time to produce many lovely quilts and assorted small projects. 2026 is bringing big changes to the BluePip house - my oldest teenager is turning 18 and graduating from high school this spring! I'm not sure I'm ready to be the "parent of an adult", but I also know that I don't have a choice in the matter. But before all that goes down, let's take one final look back at 2025.
Quilts Started in 2025: 16Quilts Finished in 2025: 20
WIP List on January 1: 13
WIP List on December 31: 9
Number of current, active QAL projects: 0 (But changing soon!)
Number of WIPs without any progress: 3
Number of Other Craft Finishes: 22
- Ghost Duck was my most popular blog post written this year.
- My Temperature Quilt tutorial was my most overall popular blog post this year - I love that you all still love this one! I made the quilt in 2018 and the tutorial was published in 2021 because I got so many questions about it.
- Zephyr was my best-selling pattern.
- Amelia was my most popular finish on Instagram AND BlueSky.
- Dice Bag was my most popular non-quilt content.
If you are reading this, I'm sure you love to look at pretty crafts. These are all the projects I have finished and shared this year, ordered by start date. Clicking on any of them will take you to the individual blog post for that project. Any project marked with an * was completed in Q4.
I'm also ending the year with two finished quilt tops, my Blue Coin leader and ender top and my Octadot green and yellow top. Both of these tops are entirely from my scrap stash, but don't worry, the bins are nowhere near empty! The green of the Octadot is a solid wideback that I've had laying around for years, always with a vague idea of using it "somehow" (I probably bought it to reach a free shipping threshold) and I'm thrilled that it is finally in a quilt.

BluePip Designs
My BluePip Designs business is continuing to grow. I made my first wholesale sale and did a
few tech edits - I'd love to do more, please contact me if you have a pattern that
needs another set of eyeballs on it before you release it to the
world! I released three very different quilt patterns as well: a
traditional pattern, a novelty quilt block pattern, and a project
pattern. I'm working on a single Q1 quilt pattern release, and then I'll be busy with graduation-themed activities so I don't have anything in the pipeline after that.

2025 Q4 Goal Recap
My goals
were made quarterly this year. Any goal that wasn't finished in the quarter
I made it rolled over into the next quarter. I'm happy with the progress I
made this year in both my personal and professional sewing!
Q4 Goal 1: Release Floppy.
Done. These cute little retro disks are available now and I am excited
to see what you make with them!
Q4 Goal 2: Finish Valentine's Day Quilt Pattern.
It's not quite
done, but the rough draft is written and the cover quilt is finished.
The goal is no procrastination and a release before the end of January!
Q4 Goal 3: Finish the Summer Sampler 2019 Top.
I had good
intentions to work on this, but instead I pivoted towards an even older WIP:
Football Quilt Like Bear's. The Octadot top I pictured above is now
going to the be the front for the football quilt and the blocks I've already
made and still like (plus two more) will be the back. This is my first
time pivoting so hard with a WIP and I'm excited to get both of these quilts
off my list in 2026!
Q4 Goal 4: Cross-Stitch Mini Tutorial.
Done. I show how I make my cross-stitch
pieces into mini quilts and briefly discuss my favorite specialty quilting
ruler, the folded corner mini.
2026 Q1 Goals
It wouldn't be a year-end recap without some goals for the coming
year! I try to give myself four goals a quarter, but I have several non-quilty goals for the quarter too so I am keeping it to three this time around.
2026 Q1 Goal 1: Cuddlekiss Release
Cuddlekiss is my Valentine's
Day-themed quilt pattern and if I don't get it done by the end of January
I'll have to sit on it until next year.
2026 Q1 Goal 2: Project Quilting
This will be my third year
participating. Doing these challenges reminds me of my swap days and I
appreciate the prompts that encourage me to think about quilting in a
different way.
2026 Q1 Goal 3: Football Quilt WIP
Finish the Octadot/Football
Quilt like Bear's quilt. I made the football blocks back in 2017 and
it's time for them to be a finished quilt.
